Noosa Dayze

We’ve just returned to Melbourne after a week in sunny Noosa. It was wonderful to relax and thaw out in the sunshine after the very cold start to winter we’ve had.
Aside from a few walks on the beach and browsing the lovely shops on Hastings Street, I spent an abundance of time reading and sewing on this lovely deck overlooking the river. I’ve been appliqueing woollen leaves onto a linen background, in readiness for a Sue Spargo class I’m taking at Amitie in August. Sue will show us how to go about embellishing our simple shapes with all kinds of bibs and bobs.
At the time I chose the fabrics, I wasn’t sure why I went for the splash of red in amongst the greens and blues, but after checking out some of the lush tropical gardens, I can see that perhaps it wasn’t so random after all.

Thanks Michelle. The blue sky was beautiful, and the leaves nice and easy to do while I was on holidays. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night. Deb
